The tradition of freezing the top tier of a wedding cake was created when wedding cakes were all made of fruit cake, which freezes very well. With the type of cake that brides are using these days freezing isn't a great idea. Although it is possible to wrap a cake for freezing it will never taste as good as it did on your wedding day. That is why I like to offer this opportunity for couples to get a freshly baked free anniversary cake to share on their first anniversary.
