Cake Design

Together we can create a special design for your wedding cake. Your only limits are your imagination. There are many places to look for inspiration for the design of your cake: your dress, colour scheme & decorations, flowers, invitations & stationary, your new china pattern, the season of your wedding, a piece of jewelry or fabric, a favorite hobby or past time, or anything else you can imagine. 

Cake Consultations

We invite you to contact us to schedule your Wedding Cake Consultation appointment for events held within the next 12 months. Although you're welcome to set up your appointment by phone, it is preferred that you use our online Consultation Request Form.

Appointments are held at my home in Owen Sound, Ontario. Our family often has to schedule our activities around cake consultations and so we respectfully ask that you please be on time for your consultation.

On the day of your consultation I'd like to encourage you bring photos/magazine clippings/sketches of cakes you like, colour swatches (if you'd like me to match a colour), or any other items you'd like to use as an inspiration for your cake. You will also have an opportunity to look through our inspiration album and various cake magazines. With a better understanding of the cake you envision, we will then be able to provide a more detailed price quote. If you're ready to select us as your cake designer, even if you've not fully decided upon flavours or design details, you can place your order and secure your wedding date on our calendar at the time of your consultation with a $100.00 deposit.

Cost

Ingredient cost is usually nominal in the construction of your cake - but time however is a major factor. Some cakes can be baked and decorated in one day and others require weeks of preparation time. The more time involved in creating your special cake the more costly it will be.

Pricing for our cakes begins at $3.00 per serving. Cupcakes begin at $2.00/each and edible wedding favours range from $2.00-$6.00/each.  

Serving

Our wedding cake servings measure about 1" x 2" and 4" high. Please inform us if you plan on using your cake as a full dessert rather than a late night snack, that way we can provide you with a larger serving size. We like to make the serving of your cake as simple as possible however all cakes cannot be handled in the same way. We will be glad to advise you on how to serve your cake. On the day your cake is delivered I will also give your caterer the instructions on how to disassemble and serve your cake. To serve your cake you should have serving dishes and forks, a cutting knife, and a damp towel (for cleaning the knife as necessary).  

Delivery & Set-Up

Delivery and set-up of your cake is $10.00 within the city of Owen Sound. There will be an additional charge of $0.40 per kilometer (round trip) for delivery outside the city of Owen Sound. For more details on delivery click here.  

Equipment Rentals

Because it is so expensive, I require a fee to cover equipment that may be returned damaged or not returned at all. The deposit will be completely refunded when the wedding is over and all the equipment is returned on time and in good condition. If the equipment is not returned by the requested date the deposit will not be refunded to you. To see the items which we have for rent click here.
